We Still Know How to Kill the Old Way

Last night, the Woodhaven Cabal decided to go hit Best Buy, which we did. After dinner, we ended up watching Battle Programmer Shirase (BPS) over at the Jeff's place. This was one of those animes that is absolutely hilarious, but also insanely perverted, but then again, Japan IS the land of perversion.

Use Your Illusion I

I had my first meeting with an outside client today, and it was rather odd for me. Internal meetings are fun, because it's okay for me to make jokes and the like, but it's different when these are clients. Instead of providing comic relief, I have to at least appear serious. When they ask whether or not they should install software X, I can't transform into Admiral Ackbar and exclaim that "It's a TRAAAAP!!!" which of course is my first instinct. In short, I said virtually nothing on this one. I believe this was the wisest course of action.

Winning Days

Did you guys see Stephen Colbert at the White House Press Corps dinner? Hi-fucking-larious, though the very few people present seemed to be laughing, mainly because the guy was totally taking aim at the administration, and the feckless media that has remained mostly resigned to getting little more than smug answers to pointed questions.
EDIT: Okay, so youtube took the video down, so here's a link to download it:
enjoy.

Physical Graffiti

Yesterday marked the first full day of the new living room configuration in the apartment. I must say that I like it, as it means that 1) my age-old recliner is right next to the window, and now adjacent to the futon, as opposed to behind the futon before, meaning that when I sat on my throne, I had a wonderful view of the backs of people's heads; 2) because said recliner is next to a window, I can sit and read books and such with natural light; and 3) I can watch movies and play video games in my recliner, which, is quite the benefit. This pleases me greatly. I kicked off the new arrangement by sitting in the chair and reading Bram Stoker's Dracula while eating spaghetti. In other news, I finished reading an incomplete draft of Justin's Saint Excelsior/Saint of Excelsior, and I must say that it is shaping up to be fantastic. I will say no more on the subject, save that it will most likely be a must-read upon release.

Hammer of the Gods

So Saturday, we had an awesome thunderstorm. All of this was as we were making our way outside to make a Best Buy run. As we walked out of the apartment, we noticed that there were a few clouds in the sky. Sean immediately put the t-tops on his car and we were off. Just as we were leaving the store, it started to sprinkle a little bit. Within a few seconds, the mild sprinkle turned into a torrential downpour, replete with lightning and thunder, heralding the arrival of THOR!!! And then it was over, and Sean's car was mercifully (mostly) dry. Yesterday was spent in Oblivion. Literally. Oblivion. People are obsessed with Oblivion, and I fear that I may be on my way to becoming one of them.
