I Shouldn't Do That...

Jan term is almost over, thank the maker! Yesterday was the usual boring lecture mixed with Bower and I saying horrible things as usual. After class got out (early!), I went over to Ryan's and smoked a pipe, drank some beer, and watched Analyze This. I hadn't seen it before, and neither had he, and we were both amused. After that, I went over to Dave, Trev, and Jeff's place for some role-playing. Unfortunately, they had all been swallowed by the monster that is World of Warcraft. So I decided that I would play Knights of the Old Republic II. And I did. Until 5 in the gods-forsaken morning. I'm now a level 7 Jedi Guardian...on the Dark Side, of course! Jeah!

In other news, I'm starving for philosophical discussion. Starving.

Hear Now, O Prince a Tale of the Day of Thor...

Hearken ye, o scions of the Earth, for yea, 'tis that most bless'd of all days. Okay, enough of the archaic crap. Today has been mostly uneventful. It's Thursday, but it feels like Tuesday. Today in class, I took Bower's place as resident lightning rod. I basically made the case for elitism. Granted, I'm not a total elitist (not by much, though). Ye gods, I hate freshmen. They have so infested our class that I just want to rip somebody's trachia out every time I hear someone answering a question "Because of Jey-zus/Christ/The LORD." I had almost forgotten why I used to be an atheist. Now I remember. After class got out, I stopped by my little sister's room to pick up some stuff, but she wasn't in. Oh well. I then went and prepped for Bible study. Thankfully, the guys didn't bail on me this time. They actually all showed up. Now I'm going to go to bed and hopefully actually remember some fucking dreams for once. And no, I'm not a cultist of Cthulhu!

Normal. At least, I think so.

Well, let's see what has gone on so far during this truncated week? Tuesday evening, I went over to Renee's house so she could read me a bed-time story (she's doing it to raise funds for her upcoming trip to New York. I highly recommend it!). After she finished reading, we just discussed our failed relationship, and basically agreed that we could remain friends, but never anything more. While this is not what I would call the ideal resolution, it is basically all that I could reasonably hope for. Some of the issues were worked out, and things were better for that. Yesterday, I was feeling quite tired. When I got home, I fixed dinner and then went to bed at about 8 o'clock. Yes, that is quite early. I then slept in this morning, and now feel much more rested. I'm also hard at work (or hardly working) on my project for Molecules and the Mind. We'll see how that turns out.

Snow Day!

Yeah, I didn't think they had those once you graduated from High School, but apparently I was wrong about that. At any rate, that's what today was. No school, and effectively a four-day weekend! I stayed up late last night watching Conan (O'Brian, not the Barbarian), and went to bed happy. I woke up this morning at the ripe hour of 10 of the A.M. and lounged around the apartment for a bit. Then Justin and I went and took our loitering to the mall, where we basically revelled in our day of unexpected freedom. After exhausting the entertainment at the mall, we went to Cost Plus to stock up on cool beers. Unfortunately, they were fresh out of my personal favorite, Old Rasputin Imperial Russian Stout (Never Say Die!). I did manage to pick up a Skullsplitter, though, so that is good. We then returned home, where I promptly took a three-hour nap. Oh, how that was good. And now I enjoy the last remaining hours of my freedom before tomorrow, when I go back to school for three days before the next weekend.

w00t!

School's cancelled tomorrow! Yippee! Okay, enough juvenile behavior for one night. Today has been a nice and lazy day. I woke up late, read some Conan, and then watched the director's cut of Hellboy. As some of you may or may not be aware, Hellboy is one of my favorite comic books, and I was a big fan of the theatrical cut of the movie. Justin has a copy of the director's cut, so I decided to watch it and see how it stacked up. I have to say that it was pretty good, as it tied the movie further into the comic books, which is always a good thing.

In other news, Renee and I have begun tentative reconciliation. I doubt we'll get back together, but at least we are talking to one another again. It is always a good thing to re-open the channels of communication, and if nothing else I can go to Taco Del Mar without horrendous awkwardness.

Looooong night

Yesterday was quite fun. In the morning, I went and loitered at the mall, whiling away several hours reading comic books and generally doing nothing. In the evening, I came home and watched Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later with Justin, which was really quite good. It was disturbing, as only the Trainspotting director can be, so that was good. Justin has had some lingering resentment over that movie, as he wrote a screenplay following the same basic lines as the those of the film, and had felt as if it was stolen. He finally got over his resentment last night and watched it, and we both agreed that it was a good movie. After that, I went over to the house of Dave, Trev, and Jeff. From there, we packed up the X-Boxes and headed over to Trampus's house. Tramp has a dog that I hate, named Jitters. The dog is aptly named, and insanely obnoxious. Once we arrived at the house, all-night X-Men Legends, baby! Trevor, Tom, and I spent a looong time playing, and before we knew it, the time was 3 in the morning, and the snow was everywhere. After that, Tom, Trev, Ryan, and I left for our respective abodes, but the snow was so insane that I opted to stay the night at Dave and Trev's place. And then I woke up and did not want to leave the bed. Oh well. Now to catch up on some sleep.
