Joey Joe Joe Joe...Shabadoo?

Hell week has come and gone, glad to say. Now it's just the mad dash for the finish line, followed by an even madder dash to Germany, where I will be enjoying fine Bavarian beer, sausages, and the hospitality of our wonderful Teutonic friends.

In other news, it looks like Trev and I are going to be moving in together, which is a good thing. Interested in helping us move in?

In other other news, I saw Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy on Sunday, and it was simply fan-bloody-tastic! I can't recommend it highly enough. From the opening musical number sung by dolphins ("So Long and Thanks For All The Fish") to the last quip Marvin, it was simply delightful. The casting was perfect. Mos Def is Ford Prefect. Sam Rockwell is Zaphod Beeblebrox. Alan Rickman is Marvin the Paranoid Android (hell, even before casting was announced, I always read Marvin as Alan Rickman). Martin Freeman is Arthur Dent. And the Vogons? Oh, the Vogons were absolutely perfect, right down to their horrendous poetry. The only possible downside was the presence of John Malkovitch, but that's just me, and he was only on for a few minutes. As I watched the film, I couldn't help but imagine Douglas Adams's rotting corpse smiling with contentment at seeing the film which ultimately took his life in 2001 finally take root and spread its glorious branches. Okay, so perhaps this is hyperbole, but it's mine, damnit!
