[insert evil genius laughter here]

Last night was Halloween, which of course meant that I had to do something or other. I ended up going to a party at Leahy's place with Jordan, Brittany, Gwendolin, Annemarie, Rita, Paul, Brandt, Molson, and Dweezy. I decided that my costume would be Connor McCleod (from Highlander) in a bathrobe. Upon arriving, we immediately hit the liquor, in the form egg nog and rum. We then started an early Peter Jackson movie entitled Meet the Feebles. My God, this was a bad movie, and I've seen some pretty bad movies in my day. Picture if you will The Muppet Show, except that in this version, Kermit is a walrus and is banging a kitten and Miss Piggy at the same time, and there's a pornographic fly buzzing around. After sitting through about fifteen minutes of this, we decided to watch that immortal classic, Ghost Busters. Most enjoyable. After a few beers, we then proceeded to go watch the end of John Carpenter's The Thing. In the end, I was a bit tipsy, but not too bad. I got back to my room and then fell into that lovely slumber that one only gets after a good satisfying night.

Shazam.

My dad came out for a visit yesterday evening and this morning. Last night, we went and filled out a passport application, and renewed my driver's licence. After that, we went to dinner at Tony Roma's, where we ran into Leonard Oakland, a mighty fine guy and one of the niftyest english profs on campus. He was eating with his son, and giving him a lecture on Nietzsche. How cool can you get? This morning marked the beginning of Fall break, so I didn't have any morning classes. With that, we went to get coffee and just sat talking for a while, eventually deciding to get some bbq (turns out it's pretty mediocre, with very little actual flavor. Of course, this is Spokane, so what were we expecting?) Also, last night, Aaron and I went and saw the Aurora Borealis. The past few days, the Earth has been hit by massive amounts of electromagnetic radiation from a vast solar storm. When this radiation hits the Earth's atmosphere, it creates dazzling light shows that positively dance across the sky. Normally, they can only be seen at the North Pole, though this solar storm hit the Earth square on, allowing the Aurora to be seen this far south. While it wasn't as bright of vibrant as in Alaska, for instance, it was still quite striking, in colors of pale greenish white. In short, quite nifty. The downside of all of this is that everything metal that I touch causes sparks to fly. It's kind of annoying. However, it's worth the wonders that can be seen in Aurora. Peace out and happy Halloween, everybody.

Dude, Looks Like A Lady..

So this week has been positively strange. Really strange. Of course it included typical woman trouble and the accompanying bitterness, rage, anger, etcetera, followed by finding out that I was wrong, followed by a test and some other crap, plus more grading. Then my dad came this afternoon. Basically, we got shit done. Then we ate at Tony Roma's. Mwa ha ha. Other than that, totally normal. I suppose that about sums it all up. Fear not, loyal readers, I am doing well right now...but not so great that a visit to see me in my lair would not make my day much better.

We Rock The Body That Rocks The Party...

Last night, I went over to the Pi Chi house for the purpose of grading tests with LPG. Wow. I have now gained a new appreciation for the amount of work teachers do. We spent about four hours just slogging through each bit of the tests, and this was just the short answer portions. By the time we got done, it was about nine o'clock and neither of us had eaten dinner yet. Thus, it was decided to do a take n' bake style pizza. Unfortunately we didn't check it until it was done. All I can say is that never before have I seen a pizza with boobs. It made for some interesting conversation, needless to say. After that, I went and hung out a bit with Justin, positively revelling in our pure geekdom. At that point, his girlfriend came over, so I had to leave. Really, it's pretty understandable. At any rate, I got back to my room, and then just collapsed. And turned my clocks back, and enjoyed the fruits of a twenty-five hour day. Fortunately, my room-mate wasn't back yet (he wouldn't get back until about 7:30 this morning), so I was able to sleep without fear of his snoring. And there you have it. As we speak (or write, in my case, and read, in your case), I am in the midst of prepping to write a paper for tomorrow in History. Woo hoo. So that's what I'm going to do.
