A Modest Proposal...
Have you ever had the feeling that people thought you were the next Hannibal Lecter? I had that feeling today in Ancient and Medieval Worlds. The prof asked the class if it thought that what was natural was always good. Nobody else ventured an answer, so I did. I pointed out that it is common for male lions to eat the cubs of rival males in an attempt to breed with the female. This being natural, it follows that cannibalism is NOT a bad thing at all, but a good thing. It was as if somebody had set of a nuclear bomb in the room. A shockwave of silence radiated outwards from me, jaws dropping, unable to believe that I had said the 'c' word. The looks in their eyes screamed "Murderer!" as if I were somehow guilty of cannibalism. It was all quite weird. I think it may have been the first time any of them actually noticed me. Granted, they only noticed what they thought of as a soulless demonic baby-eater who took delight in torture and cruelty. It was weird, to say the least.

In other news, I applied for the Ancient Philosophy study tour in Greece and Rome for Jan term. It looks like I have a pretty good chance of getting in, as I am a philosophy major, and have a particular interest in the history of Hellenic and Hellenistic culture and philosophy. It looks like it will be really cool. Well, I think that about covers it.
Will out
