Dancing on Jaques Derrida's Grave

So I was reading the Skeptic Quarterly, and they had an article in it trashing post-modern/continental philosophy in general, and Jaques Derrida in particular. This amused me, for while I do have many existential leanings, I also have a strong core of the analytic style. Take that, you continental bastards! Ha ha ha!

An article bashing Derrida? You greedy bastard. Put a link up so I can join you in your glee!

Yeah, I would totally post a link to that, but it can only be foud in the print edition of Skeptic. You can probably find it at any book store in the science section of their magazine rack. That's where I found it.

Its always like that isn't it? Something that would do wonders for all parties involved, but you have to buy the darn magazine. Freakin' A folks! Lets not let the small minded, PBS watching, liberal, empty headed, "free thinking", internet hackers who style themselves philosophers because they have read some abbridged Derrida on Wikipedia, drink Starbucks while wearing a black turtle neck, and bemoaning the fact that they haven't met anybody "deep enough" to have real relations with, get anything useful from all the 1s and 0s floating about out there! Heck no! Lets just skip around and claim ignorance! And while we are at it, said hackers should roll a D6 to find out if they are totally lame or better yet, go to college and (not ITT Tech) and get a degree in philosophy.

Hahaha...just had to say, I loved that description of said self-named philosophers...that's hilarious. I will freely admit that I know barely enough philosophy to recognize some names and a few Core-250 theories that I appreciated. Yeah, that's about it.
