I don't know how they did it, but our IT department has succeeded in being even more paranoid than I am. And they aren't even smart about it. Basically it all comes down to sheer bloody-mindedness. Plus they fucked up HAL, and that is a crime for which much blood shall be spilt. He's working now, but not at full speed.
