Yippee.
Well, my mom and sister are in town this weekend. They arrived yesterday, and as usual, were late. Unfortunately, I had to miss much of the fun at springfest due to looking out for them. However, I did get to sumo wrestle Brett in those big sumo suits. It was quite fun. We ended up in a dead heat. I found that the best tactic was to use karate and kung fu, which looks really funny in a sumo suit. It's also really hard to do. REALLY hard to do. I managed to catch the Mr. Whitworth competition, which was just plain weird, with assorted members of the campus community running about in drag and singing kitschy songs and the like. Most peculiar, in my opinion. Mom and Anna finally arrived at about 4:15, and boy was it a relief, considering I had thought they would be in by about 2:00. Needless to say, I was quite worried about them. By the time they got there, most of the festivities were wrapping up, which was a real shame, as I was hoping that I could show them a good time. Unfortunately, that was not to be. At any rate, I showed them my awesome room and the rest of campus, and introduced Anna to my friends. We then got Anna's stuff out of the car and brought it up to the room where she was to spend the night, with Sara Harris and Beth. At 6:30, we went for dinner at Tomato Street with Peter, Sara, Beth, Justin, and myself. Mom payed. That was awesome. Unfortunately, some of the local high schools were doing their prom thing, so it was a long wait. At that point, Justin, Peter, and I made a break for Toys 'r Us, where we basked in nostalgia as we looked at the action figures. That was where Sara and Beth found us, gazing longingly at the action figures. It was quite humorous. We then got back to the restaurant, found our table, and then got dinner. Justin, it turns out, is a real garlic bread fiend. The man turns into this weird Gollum-thing when you try and take the last piece in the basket. It's phenomenal. We then went back to Stewart Hall, and engaged in a good old fashioned hot tub in the couches. Unfortunately, as far as I was concerned, there were no nubile young women to sit in it with me. They were all either taken, my sister, or unavailable. Damn. Today promises to be rather strange. I spend the afternoon with my mom. That could be really good, or really bad, depending on her mood at the moment. Me being me, I am leaning towards the latter. It's not that she's mean or anything, it's just that she will nag and get on my case to end. That could be tedious.
