Friggin' weird if you ask me
Last night was one of the most weird experiences I've had in some time. I actually had a drink with Dick Mandeville. Now, the irony may be lost on some of you, as you do not know the ominous significance of Mandeville at Whitworth. This is the guy who is in charge of disciplining students for infractions of the so-called "Big 3" (No drinking/drugs, no sex, no violence/disturbing the community). Here's how it went down. My friend Dave turned 21 last night, so we took him out to O'Daugherty's Irish Pub for dinner and drinks and the like. I had eaten before going, so I had more money to spend on the important things like alcohol. As I was finishing my Laphroaig, who should show up but the dean of death himself. Furthermore, he sat down and drank a Guinness with us. Needless to say, it was slightly disconcerting. I mean, this is a guy who hands out massive fines for a can of beer in a student's dorm. And he was drinking Guinness with us in a bar. Then Dave got up on the bar and played his mandolin and sang "Wonderwall" by Oasis. It was cool.
